Our Care Guide

BEFORE CHRISTMAS

1. Keep the soil moist.

Check the soil regularly — water thoroughly when it feels dry, and keep it slightly damp (like a houseplant).

2. Keep it outdoors as long as possible.

Your tree prefers the cold! Bring it indoors no more than 10–14 days before Christmas.

3. Let it adjust slowly.

Before moving it inside, place the tree in a cool, sheltered spot such as a garage for a few days to help it acclimate.

4. Choose a cool indoor spot.

Once inside, place your tree near natural light but away from heat sources and vents. The cooler the location, the better!

AFTER CHRISTMAS

1. Acclimate again before going outside.

When the holidays are over, move the tree back to a sheltered area (like a garage) for a few days so it can adjust to outdoor temperatures. Don’t forget to water it well before moving it out.

2. Plant right away (if conditions allow).

If the ground is thawed and you’ve prepared a hole, plant your tree after acclimating. Pack thawed soil around the root ball and consider wrapping the tree in burlap if it’s in a windy location.

3. Or wait until spring.

If you can’t plant yet, keep your tree in a sunny, sheltered spot outdoors. Make sure the pot doesn’t dry out — water as needed, especially during thaw/freeze cycles.

Enjoy watching your Christmas tree grow for years to come!
